New Emblem

After more that 25 years using the same emblem or shoulder patch, Sheriff Allen decided it was time to move on to a new, more modern emblem that better reflects Anson County. The final selection was one that both is eye catching and reflects some of the significant resources in the county.

Anson County is a rural county that is still significantly in forests. It has an abundant water supply from the Pee Dee River and Rocky River that border the county on two sides. The new emblem reflects the beautiful pine forests, the Carolina blue sky, the two rivers and the bountiful wild life, including the great bald eagle population, the symbol of freedom of our Nation.

This new emblem was officially introduced on June 2, 2007.
